Senior Pastors
Pastors Larry & Brenda Skiles
For over three decades, Larry and Brenda Skiles have been leading with one simple mission: reach people where they are. After serving in multiple churches across Missouri and Michigan, they planted deep roots in Tampa, Florida, where they've pastored Waves of Joy Church for the past 39 years. Their ministry is built on real stories of life change — moments of healing, freedom, and fresh starts. They believe everyone deserves hope and a second chance.
Associate Pastors
Larry & April
Larry and April have been married for 27 years, have two amazing daughters, a son-in-law, and a beautiful granddaughter — family is at the heart of everything they do. For over 25 years, they've faithfully served at Waves of Joy Church as Associate Pastors, helping build a strong, connected, and Christ-centered community. Whether they're mentoring, leading, or simply walking alongside others, they are committed to seeing lives strengthened at home and transformed through faith.
Food Ministry Leaders
Herbie & Renee Sierra
Herbie & Renee Sierra lead our Food Ministry at the church. Herbie has been a faithful believer in Jesus Christ since childhood, and served the Celebrate Recovery Ministry for 8 years. Renee has been in ministry since 2008, serving as a Leader in Celebrate Recovery and on mission trips assisting other churches. Both have a deep love for God and a heart for serving others by providing food, clothing, and housing to those in need.

"It is our heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus by meeting practical needs and sharing His love with our community."
Our Food Ministry is committed to serving our community with the love of Christ. Six days a week, we pick up donated food from Publix and place it on tables outside the church so it is readily available to those in need throughout our community.
Our food pantry is also open every Saturday at 12:00 PM, where we provide food, clothing, and other essential items for individuals and families.
